Intensive ESL at Arizona State University

Arizona State University (ASU) has been ranked one of the Top 100 universities in the world.* ASU offers more than 450 top-quality graduate and undergraduate programs at four unique campuses across metropolitan Phoenix, Arizona. ASU’s world-renowned faculty includes 3 Nobel laureates, 11 National Academy of Sciences members and 87 Fulbright American Scholars.

Conditionally admitted students to ASU can fulfill the ASU English language proficiency requirement through enrollment in the American English and Culture Program (AECP) at ASU’s Tempe Campus. AECP has been offering specially designed intensive English as a Second Language instruction since 1974, and has served students from more than 115 countries. AECP faculty and staff are prepared to help students meet their English goals, experience American culture and prepare for academic study.

The AECP curriculum provides students with the language and cultural skills necessary to enroll into an academic program at ASU. Outside of the classroom, AECP students have a full-range of opportunities to practice their English language skills and experience American culture through AECP sponsored activities such as trips to the Grand Canyon and Sedona, AZ, museums, theater events, picnics, professional sporting events, conversation clubs, and many more.
