Georgia State University, founded in 1913, is an urban research university located in the heart of downtown Atlanta. It is the largest university in the Atlanta metropolitan area and is known for its top-ranked business programs. Georgia State has a total enrollment of more than 30,000 undergraduate and graduate students, 1,500 of which are international, representing over 159 countries. The University is fully accredited and offers over 250 graduate and undergraduate majors from which to choose.
Despite its location in the hustle and bustle of a major U.S. city, Georgia State has one of the safest campuses in Georgia, with the largest campus police force in the states. As the governmental, financial, retail, health and legal center of the Southeast, Atlanta supplies abundant sites for internships and real-world learning experiences for Georgia State students. Inside the classroom, the professors are approachable and engaging, helping students connect with relevant research and work opportunities.
Outside the classroom, Georgia State offers a multitude of ways to get involved: over 200 students clubs, including 20 international student groups and multiple professional organizations, sports opportunities and amazing recreational facilities. Students can enjoy outdoor activities like cycling and horseback riding, and take trips to hike, camp or whitewater raft in the nearby North Georgia mountains.
