MiraCosta College English Language Intensive (ELI) offers international students the opportunity to increase their English language proficiency and develop the skills needed for success in a college or university in the United States. The English Language Institute program provides individualized instruction in small classes. Dedicated professional faculty and state-of-the-art computer software make your learning experiences more effective. Students receive academic advisement and assistance in applying to colleges and universities. Our program is offered five times through out the year. Each session is eight weeks long and you may combine sessions for a longer stay. Each session provides 20 hours per week of instruction. Classes are held Monday-Thursday 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Friday from 9:000 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Off-campus housing is available for students to reside with a carefully screened local family to learn more about the culture and improve spoken English skills. We have a full-service international student office with advisors. These advisors will help you with all immigration documents. They also help students plan their classes and education to ensure successful transfer into MiraCosta credit classes or other California colleges and universities
