Founded in 1968, Northern Kentucky University is a comprehensive, state-supported, co-educational institution. Northern Kentucky University offers students a broad range of educational programs emphasizing traditional collegiate and liberal studies. The university is located in the community of Highland Heights, Kentucky, on 350 acres of rolling countryside. It maintains modern and comfortable facilities. The resources of metropolitan Cincinnati, Ohio, are just eleven kilometers from campus and major international airport is just minutes away.
Approximately 15,000 students are enrolled at NKU and over 68 countries are represented by the over 300 international students. Northern Kentucky University offers on-campus housing options in a variety of styles. All students receive free bus transportation on local city buses. Weather conditions of the Northern Kentucky Greater Cincinnati area are characterized by variation and change. There are four distinct seasons; fall, spring, summer, winter.
NKU’s was named as one of America’s Best Colleges in 2010 by Forbe’s Magazine. The College of Business is AACSB accredited and the university was one of the first universities in the United States to offer a College of Informatics. The university offers Associate, Bachelor, Master, and selected doctorate degrees. Intensive English classes are offered on campus and conditional admission is available for all undergraduate programs as well as selected graduate programs.
