North Dakota State University

North Dakota State University is a comprehensive, career-oriented university with a long-standing reputation for excellence in technical, scientific and agricultural research. The university was founded in 1890 and is accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools. The university offers over 100 bachelor’s programs, 59 master’s programs, and 44 doctoral programs. Under the guidance of the current university president, Joseph A. Chapman, the university is experiencing a time of growth. The university has new academic programs, new facilities on campus and in downtown Fargo, and achieved a record enrollment for the ninth year in a row. Currently we enroll over 13,200 students including more than 950 international students from over 80 countries. North Dakota State University is listed in the top 100 of several National Science Foundation (NSF) annual research expenditure rankings in the areas of chemistry, physical sciences, psychology, agricultural sciences and social sciences. Out of 517 research universities without a medical school, NDSU ranks 42nd. For international students, NDSU is able to offer scholarships to help reduce the cost of tuition. For students pursing bachelor’s degrees, the university offers the Academic & Cultural Sharing Scholarship. This scholarship reduces nonresident tuition by 50%, a savings of over $7,000. Graduate students working on their master’s or doctoral degrees are eligible for research or teaching assistantships to graduate students. These assistantships provide students with a monthly stipend and a full tuition waiver.
